തമസ്സല്ലോ സുഖപ്രദം
സമയം ഉച്ചകഴിഞ്ഞ് രണ്ടര.
ഇളം കാറ്റടിക്കുന്നു.
തുറന്നിട്ട വാതിലില് കൂടി കാറ്റ് കടന്നുവന്ന്, ചുവരിലെ ആണിയില് തൂക്കിയിട്ട മനോരമ കലണ്ടര് നിലത്തിട്ടു.
ഊണുകഴിഞ്ഞ് മയങ്ങുന്ന അയാള് ഒന്ന് ഞെട്ടി, പിന്നെ തിരിഞ്ഞു കിടന്നു.
ആ തിരിയലിനിടയില് രോമാവൃതമായ ചെസ്റ്റിലുണ്ടായിരുന്ന പത്രം താഴെ വീണു.
....
നിഴലുകള്ക്ക് നീളം കൂടി.
വെളിച്ചത്തിന് ഇപ്പൊ വാതിലിലൂടെ അയാളുടെ മുറിവരെയെത്താം.
വെളിച്ചം പമ്മിപ്പമ്മി അടുത്ത്ചെന്ന് അയാളുടെ മുഖത്ത് നോക്കി.
അയാള് കണ്ണ് തുറന്നു.
വെളിച്ചം ചിരിച്ചു.
“ഹോ, ഈ നശിച്ച വെളിച്ചം... ഇവിടെയൊരു കര്ട്ടനിടണം...”, പ്രാകിക്കോണ്ട് അയാള് മുഖം തിരിച്ചു.

An Evening in Marine Drive
Last weekend had to spend some spare time in Kochi, before I could catch the bus to Bangalore. Headed straight to Marine Drive and sat there watching the sunset, boats, ships and human beings.
I saw a ship docked in the port at a distance. Once the sun went to other side of the world, the ship was fully lit. Only when I returned to Bangalore, I came to know that ship is Queen Elizabeth 2 (Courtesy Jose Thomas).
